Rocket Lab USA Inc (NASDAQ:RKLB) stock lost nearly 20% after a failed launch of the company’s latest satellite in the early hours of Tuesday.
The uncrewed Electron rocket launch, from New Zealand, planned alongside partner Capella Space failed minutes into the flight.
The company’s next launch, slated for the third quarter, has now been suspended while the mission failure is analyzed.
“We are working closely with the FAA and supporting agencies as the investigation into the root cause commences,” Rocket Lab said in a statement.
“The Electron rocket has previously delivered 171 satellites to orbit across 37 successful orbital missions.
“We will identify the issue swiftly and implement corrective actions and return to the pad shortly.”
In New York, Rocket Lab shares were down 18.45% changing hands at $4.11.
