Chill Brands to diversify vapour product range

Chill Brands Group PLC (LSE:CHLL, OTCQB:CHBRF) has set its sights on diversifying its product range to include further reusable vapes.

Rechargeable and refillable products mirroring the appearance of disposable vapes have already been developed, chief executive Callum Sommerton said in a speech due to be delivered at Tuesday’s annual general meeting.

“We will release further information [...] in due course, but can confirm that we intend to extend and diversify our range of vapour products regardless of any regulatory changes,” he said.

Anticipation has built in recent weeks that disposable vapes could be banned in Britain, over concerns of children using the products.

Sommerton pointed out that the ban would be subject to consultation, adding no formal proposals had yet been made.

“While media speculation can be unsettling, our shareholders can take comfort that the business is agile and well-equipped to accommodate any regulatory changes that come to pass,” he continued.

“It is clearly important that steps are taken to safeguard children and maximise the use of vape recycling schemes.

“[We] will work actively with others in the industry to navigate any potential regulatory challenges.”

Reflecting on the year just gone, Sommerton pointed to the firm’s launch of nicotine-free products in the UK and the US, with “encouraging sell-through rates” having prompted discussions with larger retailers.

These talks are ongoing, he added, suggesting updates would be given in the “near future”.
