Christie Group slides on loss and cautious outlook

The outcome for the year will depend on how many deals complete in the next four months.

Christie Group PLC (AIM:CTG), the distressed business services specialist, tumbled 11% as it swung to a first-half loss and warned of an uncertain outlook for the remainder of the year.

All of the issues are in its agency and advisory business, it said, where the number of transactions brokered has slowed.

Dan Prickett, chief executive, said the loss for the half year to end June of £1.86 million (£1.73 million profit) was a "disappointing" performance but aside from the transactions arm other parts of the business performed encouragingly.

Deal levels have also picked up recently, he said, but the outcome for the year will depend on how many of these complete in the next four months.

Shares fell 12.5p to 97.5p.
