Renforth Resources Inc (CSE:RFR, OTCQB:RFHRF) told investors it has discovered new, previously unrecorded battery metals mineralization in an albitized shear zone on surface northeast of the Lalonde mineralized structure at its Surimeau property in Québec’s Abitibi.
The company said its August/September prospecting program at Surimeau also revealed numerous pegmatites not previously mapped or sampled in the southern part of the property. Additional samples were taken from these and other locations in the latter half of the program and have been delivered for assay, it added.
Renforth said it is now applying for a permit to drill in the central area of the Victoria structure at Surimeau this fall.
The purpose of the program is to tighten its drill pattern within 2.2 kilometres of the mineralized horizon already drilled in the central area, a requirement as the company move towards an initial resource statement.
By collaring holes further to the north, Renforth noted it will be drilling deeper into the Victoria mineralization and anticipates seeing all three of the mineralized zones it has currently identified in this central area.
The company said it is awaiting assay results in order to determine if certain pegmatites should be stripped to create better surface exposure to allow additional investigation. Additionally, it said it will also be permitting stripping northeast of Lalonde and at the Beaupré showing in the northeastern part of the property to expand on where prospecting and minor trenching in 2019 returned copper values of up to 3.59%.
Renforth is a secure multi-commodity area play with the dominant brownfield land position south of the world-class Cadillac-Larder Lake Fault in the prolific Cadillac and Malartic mining camps of Quebec's Abitibi.
