Aterian PLC (LSE:ATN) has reported results of its reconnaissance programme at the Zaer project east of Casablanca in Morocco.
The project, one of 17 within the company’s 897-square-kilometre Moroccan portfolio, has so far confirmed copper and silver hosting mineralization – with sampling grades measuring 2.34% copper and 33.3 grams per tonne silver respectively.
It highlighted, in a statement, that the project hosts several historically mapped copper occurrences.
Reconnaissance rock chip and stream sediment sampling has completed and further analysis of the results is anticipated.
"These reconnaissance results from the initial survey on the Zaer Project have provided strong indications for copper mineralisation occurring on the licences,” said chair Charles Bray, Aterian chair.
“The stream sediment survey has outlined several encouraging anomalies, which provide focused target areas for our field teams to explore. As we continue to work on our portfolio of projects in Morocco, we are demonstrating the high quality and great potential of these assets.
“We believe our assets in Morocco have the potential to deliver tremendous value to the company, its shareholders and other stakeholders, especially as exploration of Morocco increases as it becomes an established critical metal mining destination.”
