C3 Metals Inc (TSX-V:CCCM, OTC:CARCF) has announced the intersection of what it called “strong porphyry copper-gold mineralization” in the first two holes of the recently commenced drill program on its 100% owned Bellas Gate project in Jamaica, which included 285.9 metres (m) of 0.37% copper and 0.21 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, or 0.52% copper equivalent, from 64.1m.
The mineral exploration company said the results include the longest interval of copper-gold mineralization intersected at the Provost target to date.
"We believe we are in the initial stages of a significant discovery at the Bellas Gate project in Jamaica," C3 Metals CEO Dan Symons said in a statement.
"We have confirmed multiple, near-surface porphyries and believe there are deeper-seated, high-grade drivers of such an extensive trend of porphyry alteration and mineralization," he added.
C3 Metals noted that complete assays have been received for hole PVT0900-001 and partial assays for PVT0900-002, with both holes confirming broad zones of near surface copper-gold mineralization.
The company added that it plans to systematically evaluate the extensive zone of alteration and surface geochemistry at Provost with multiple drill holes and anticipates a steady flow of assay results through the end of 2023.
C3 Metals is a minerals exploration company working on the discovery and development of large copper and gold deposits.
The company also holds a 100% interest in five licenses covering 207 square kilometres of highly prospective copper-gold terrain in Jamaica and also holds about 24,000 hectares located in the prolific high-grade Andahuaylas-Yauri Porphyry-Skarn belt of southern Peru.
