Crypto Report: Bitcoin volumes are on a steady journey lower

In the latest Crypto Report, Bitcoin showed minimal activity during the weekend trading session, experiencing a 0.25% drop over both days.

Currently valued at $25,800, it dipped by an additional 0.15% during the Asia trading window. On a weekly basis, BTC/USDT is down by 0.7% and 12.2% on a monthly scale.

The prevailing trend of cautious trading persists in 2022, with Bitcoin prices likely to face continued pressure due to a lack of significant external catalysts. This year, trading volumes have steadily declined, largely attributed to the numerous controversies surrounding the crypto space in 2022.

Ethereum (ETH), the second-largest cryptocurrency, exhibited a weak performance over the weekend, remaining flat on Saturday and then dropping over 1.1% by Sunday's close.

Currently trading at $1,612, it fell an additional 0.3% this morning. Ether's weekly performance saw a 1.4% decrease against Bitcoin, resulting in a resurgence of Bitcoin dominance from 49.1% to 49.6%.

Among altcoins, Toncon (TON) experienced a downturn after an initial rally, dropping by 10% in the past week.

The global cryptocurrency market capitalization stands at $1.03 trillion, a slight decrease from $1.045 trillion the previous week.
