Troilus Gold Corp (TSX:TLG, OTCQX:CHXMF) released a new corporate update that included information about its upcoming feasibility study and some leadership changes.
On the executive front, Troilus announced Blake Hylands has stepped down from his role as president. Hylands will continue to support and advise the exploration and technical teams part-time until the end of the year.
Elsewhere, vice president of environment and permitting Jacqueline Leroux's role has expanded to include oversight of all Quebec operations, including Troilus camp and community relations. Daniel Bergeron, who previously oversaw Quebec Operations, is now vice president special projects, focusing on infrastructure development and government relations.
And, Kyle Frank has been promoted to vice president of exploration, and Nicolas Guest is now the manager of exploration.
Justin Reid, CEO and Director of Troilus, sincerely thanked Hylands in a statement and wished him success in his future endeavours.
Reid noted that Jacqueline Leroux has been instrumental in the advancement of the Troilus Gold project.
“Her technical background, intimate understanding of Quebec’s regulatory framework and exemplary leadership and dedication make her the ideal candidate to oversee Quebec operations,” Reid said.
Reid told shareholders that Daniel Bergeron’s new role will allow the company to leverage his expertise with infrastructure and government in Northern Quebec, “working closely with the engineering team to ensure we develop a project that is sustainable and functional in a remote environment.”
The Troilus CEO also congratulated Kyle Frank and Nicolas Guest on their “well-deserved” promotions, noting their contribution to Troilus’ exploration successes.
Operational updates
On the operational front, Troilus said it is implementing cost-cutting measures to ensure financial resilience and agility. The exploration team has completed drilling, with an updated mineral resource estimate expected in the third quarter of 2023 due to forest fires disrupting activities.
The engineering team is working on a feasibility study, expected to be completed by the end of 2023 or early 2024. Federal and Provincial permitting processes are progressing, with public consultations conducted with local communities. Troilus engaged Stantec (TSX:STN) to complete its Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, expected by the end of 2024.
Montreal-based Troilus is focused on the systematic advancement and de-risking of the former gold and copper Troilus operation in Quebec towards production.
