Blackbird PLC (AIM:BIRD, OTCQX:BBRDF), the video editing software producer, secured a new contract with an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for the Summer Games in 2024, a trading update on Monday revealed.
Providing the OEM with its cloud video editing software, the tech group offers its client the ability to edit and publish from up to 70 concurrent live streams.
Offering rights holders across the world the availability of the full editing suite, Blackbird says the deal also covers two other events, a school project and a Youth Games.
Blackbird PLC (AIM:BIRD, OTCQX:BBRDF)'s chief executive officer, Ian McDonough, said in a statement: "We are delighted to announce that Blackbird will again be deployed on this world-recognised international sporting event next year. An event of this scale and complexity requires unremitting reliability in its partners and we have a successful track record in delivering on tournaments of this stature.
"We are both proud to have been selected and honoured to sit at the epicentre of content creation during this iconic competition. This win is a testament to the resilience of our tech which has proven itself again and again as a trusted partner for live sports production."
Last week, the London-listed firm said it would be shifting its focus to larger deals and partnerships to respond to an evolving media landscape, with the group having partaken in an effective cost-cutting scheme which reduced overheads by half a million.
