Early movers: GitLab, Photronics, Roku, Zscaler, Asana, and Manchester United

GitLab Inc (NASDAQ:GTLB) shares rose more than 5% in early deals after the coding community firm posted an adjusted fiscal second-quarter profit when analysts called for a loss. Revenue jumped 38% year-over-year to $139.6 million, compared to expectations of $129.8 million. Read more

Semiconductor equipment supplier Photronics Inc (NASDAQ:PLAB) (Photronics Inc (NASDAQ:PLAB)) had little to impress investors at today’s third-quarter earnings call, with quarterly revenues coming to $224.2 million with gross profits of $86.8 million, representing year-on-year increases of 1.9% and 3.5% respectively. Roku Inc (NASDAQ:ROKU) (Roku Inc (NASDAQ:ROKU)) traded up 10% in Wednesday’s early deals, after announcing an uncommon pairing – an upgrade to revenue expectations and cost cutting by laying off 10% of its workforce. Read more

Zscaler Inc. (NASDAQ:ZS) (Zscaler Inc. (NASDAQ:ZS)) stock dipped 1.4% despite the company reporting a 43% jump in revenue, compared to last year, whilst adjusted earnings per share (EPS) were marked at $0.64, up from $0.25. The consensus analyst forecast for the cloud security company was for adjusted EPS of $0.49 on $431 million in revenue. Read more

Asana shares declined 3.3% after investors digested what initially looked like positive results – it posted better-than-expected second quarter fiscal 2024 earnings and revealed an improved outlook for the full year after the closing bell on Tuesday.

New York listed, English football club Manchester United Plc (NYSE:MANU) saw its shares take pause after collapsing nearly 20% yesterday following media reports claiming that Florida-based majority owners, the Glazer family (also owners of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL franchise) were preparing to take the club off the market after a protracted sale process failed to meet the family’s reported asking price.

In Wednesday’s early deals Manchester United shares were up 3.3% at US$19.99 each – after losing 18.2% in regular trading yesterday. Read more
