Gfinity CEO share purchase puts some pep in the step of the stock

Shares in Gfinity PLC (AIM:GFIN) surged in early deals after its newly appointed chief executive bought stock in the e-sports group.

David Halley acquired 7.68 million shares for 0.135p each, taking his holding to 74.3 million shares, or 2.19% of the equity base.

Market participants often view director share buying positively because it signals the directors' confidence in the company's future prospects.

Certainly, the transaction appears to have put a pep in the step of the stock price, which initially rose 12% before settling 0.0055p higher at 0.13p.
