Evgen Pharma appoints new chair and CFO

Evgen Pharma PLC (AIM:EVG), a leader in sulforaphane-based medicine development, has announced a re-shuffle of its board.

Chair Barry Clare, who has been with Evgen since its inception in 2007 and played a pivotal role in its IPO in 2015, will retire later this month to be replaced on an interim basis by Dr Susan Foden, the company's senior independent director.

"On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Barry for his considerable work with Evgen since inception. His support and guidance have been invaluable to the board, and we wish him well for the future," said chief executive Dr Huw Jones.

"Our senior NED, Susan Foden has agreed to take over as chair of the board whilst the search for a permanent successor is underway. Sue is already an integral member of the board sharing her broad experience from across the biotech sector."

Foden brings a wealth of experience, having held positions at Vectura, BerGenBio AS, BTG (LSE:BTG), and Neurocentrx Ltd.

Additionally, the company has appointed Toni Hänninen as the interim chief financial officer, succeeding Richard Moulson who retired in July.

Hänninen has over two decades of experience and previously served as CFO at Faron Pharmaceuticals. "His proven experience in the AIM market and beyond will be invaluable to us as we enter the next phase of our development," said CEO Jones.
