Jet2 PLC (AIM:JET2) has appointed Robin Terrell as non-executive chairman, succeeding Philip Meeson.
Meeson bought the business in 1983, when it was a small cargo airline and distribution company serving the Channel Islands.
The company listed in November 1988 and has since become one of the UK’s leading leisure travel businesses.
The company said Terrell will assume the role with immediate effect now that Meeson, who said he was stepping down in July, has fully handed over his responsibilities.
Terrell was appointed as an independent non-executive director in April 2020.
In November 2022, he was appointed as the company's senior independent non-executive director.
Meeson will stand down from the board and move to the position of founder and adviser.
Meeson said: "Although I am stepping back from the board, I'm proud to remain a significant shareholder and will remain a strong supporter of the business."
