ReNeuron Group PLC (AIM:RENE, OTC:RNUGF) said it has taken an important step forward with plans to differentiate its exosome platform by generating in vivo (living tissue) data highlighting its distinct organ and cellular targeting capabilities.
Iain Ross, executive chairman, said: "On the basis of this data the company will now look to broaden its capabilities and, in liaison with partners and collaborators, focus on the functional delivery of specific payloads."
A new technology, stem-cell derived exosomes are seen a as way of delivering treatments to very specific areas of the body, such as parts of the brain for instance, potentially improving the efficacy of drugs for conditions such as Huntington’s disease.
Randolph Corteling, chief scientific officer, added: "I am pleased to confirm that over the last six months, we have generated comparative in vivo data demonstrating distinct organ and cellular targeting capabilities of our proprietary stem-cell derived exosomes, which differentiates our CustomEX platform from that of our competitors."
