Chinese electric vehicle (EV) makers recorded strong growth in their delivery numbers for August, with Li Auto leading the pack delivering 34,914 vehicles during the month, up 663.8% from this time in 2022.
The company said deliveries for each of the three Li L series models exceeded 10,000, with cumulative deliveries in 2023 reaching 208,165 as of the end of August.
Next was NIO Inc (NYSE:NIO), which saw its deliveries increase 81% year-over-year to 19,329 vehicles in August.
It has delivered 94,352 vehicles so far in 2023, a 31.9% increase from 2022, NIO said.
Its August deliveries consisted of 12,015 premium smart electric SUVs and 7,314 premium smart electric sedans.
Finally, Xpeng Inc (NYSE:XPEV) delivered a record 13,690 vehicles during the month, representing a 24% increase over July and a 43% year-over-year.
The company noted that, since the start of 2023, its monthly delivery volume has continuously increased.
