FTSE 100 up after breaking run - Market Report

Good morning from London where the FTSE 100 has risen in early trading, after falling for the first time in week yesterday. Its now hovering around below the 7,500 point mark.

Some fresh data from lender Nationwide Building Society this morning revealed that UK house prices fell at their fastest rate since 2009 in August. The average property now costs £259,153, according to the lender, down by a hefty 5.3% over the course of the year.

Elsewhere, Direct Line Insurance Group PLC (LSE:DLG) shares faced a blow as the insurer updated that it expects to pay £30 million in redress to customers who were overcharged last year.

Consumer group Which? has slammed airlines after passengers left stranded by Monday’s Air Traffic Control error faced limits on financial aid for emergency accommodation.

Pharma giant GSK PLC (LSE:GSK, NYSE:GSK) started on a brighter note meanwhile, as news that its sinusitis drug had been accepted for review in Japan.

And finally in small caps, RC365 Holding PLC (LSE:RCGH) rose after confirming the signing of an exclusive rights agreement with YouneeqAI for its UK platform.
