Eskay Mining kicks off drill program at British Columbia gold project

Eskay Mining Corp (TSX-V:ESK, OTCQX:ESKYF) said it has identified new high-priority drill targets and has commenced its 2023 drill program at its Consolidated Eskay gold project located in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle.

The company said preparations have been made to drill two targets identified earlier this year by Simcoe Geosciences, the Maroon Cliffs and Hexigon-Mercury geophysical anomalies.

Fieldwork carried out in mid-July has allowed the company to identify four additional high-value drill targets that display similar geophysical expressions to Maroon Cliffs and Hexigon-Mercury, which are Storie Creek, Cumberland, Bruce Glacier, and TV South.

Meanwhile, Eskay noted that diamond drilling commenced at the Tarn Lake target a few days ago and a second drill rig is being mobilized to the project site.

The company aims to complete 6,500 metres of drilling in 2023 testing the Maroon Cliffs, Hexigon-Mercury, Tarn Lake, Scarlet Knob, Bruce Glacier, Storie Creek, Cumberland, and TV South targets.

Eskay said in a statement it has decided that “sharp-shooting” multiple high-quality targets is the best approach to make one or more discoveries during 2023.

The drill program is being funded by the sale of five mining claims to Skeena Resources along with Eskay’s existing treasury funds, the company said.

Eskay is focused on the exploration and development of precious and base metals along the Eskay rift in a highly prolific region of northwest British Columbia known as the Golden Triangle, 70 kilometres northwest of Stewart, British Columbia.
