Golden Shield Resources (CSE:GSRI, OTCQB:GSRFF) Inc has announced results of grab sampling and the start of drilling at its flagship Marudi Mountain gold project in Guyana.
The gold exploration company said about 187 grab samples were collected over an area of 300 meters (m) by 110m west and downslope of the Marudi North prospect, with 98 samples yielding assays greater than 1.0 gram per tonne (g/t) gold ranging between 1.2 g/t and 37.6 g/t with an average tenor of 5.8 g/t gold.
Golden Shield noted that given the high-grade nature of the assays, the Marudi North Prospect has been upgraded to Priority #1 for reverse circulation (RC) drilling, which is expected to begin next week.
It added that historic drill results from Marudi North included 3.96m of 15.7 g/t gold.
As well, Golden Shield stated that continued field exploration consisting of trenching and grab sampling and mapping will continue.
And, the company said it will begin diamond drill testing the best of the RC anomalous areas in late September/early October, once sufficient assay results from the RC drilling have been received.
Golden Shield Resources (CSE:GSRI, OTCQB:GSRFF) is a gold exploration company focused on three highly prospective 100%-owned exploration projects in Guyana, South America: Marudi Mountain, Arakaka, and Fish Creek.
