Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) chief executive Andy Jassy has launched a blistering attack on company staff who refuse to return to work in the office.
According to a memo seen by Business Insider, Jassy said that those unwilling to comply with the group’s 'three days in office' rule should consider working for someone else.
Jassy said: “It’s past the time to disagree and commit… and if you can’t disagree and commit, I also understand that, but it’s probably not going to work out for you at Amazon because we are going back to the office at least three days a week.
“It’s not right for all of our team-mates to be in three days a week and for people to refuse to do so,” the memo continued.
Amazon has been ramping up pressure on staff who refuse to come back to the office, including monitoring their movements in some instances.
Around 2,000 workers organised a walk-out earlier this year over Amazon’s insistence that staff return to work in an office, though the company says the numbers involved were much lower than that.
