Former US president Donald Trump has returned to Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR)/X in typical Trump fashion by tweeting a photo of his mugshot which was taken following his arrest in Atlanta, Georgia.
Returning to the social media platform for the first time since 2021, Trump shared a mugshot from his booking at Fulton County jail in Georgia, where he surrendered on charges of election interference.
Posting a caption below saying "Election interference! Never surrender!", he then directed users to his website.

After previously stating his intention to stick with his new platform, Truth Social, Trump's return to X marks a significant move away from the 6.4 million followers he amassed while banned from Elon Musk’s platform.
Having been banned from Twitter after the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol, Trump still retains more than 88 million followers on the platform.
Elon Musk, a self-proclaimed "free speech absolutist," played a role in Trump's account restoration on X in November, conducting a poll that garnered over 15 million votes, leading to a narrow victory for restoring Trump's account.
