Mkango Resources Ltd (AIM:MKA, TSX-V:MKA, OTC:MKNGF) said it is still negotiating with the Government of Malawi to provide, among other things, a stable fiscal regime in which the company can operate its projects in the country and be attractive to financial partners.
An independent, international law firm was appointed by the Malawi government in the fourth quarter of 2022 to review and finalise a mining permit (MDA).
Advice has been provided to the government by this law firm and negotiations continue.
Elsewhere, discussions are ongoing with banks, strategic investors and potential providers of grants to fund the completion of a feasibility study for the Pulawy separation plant in Poland.
Earlier this month, subsidiary Maginito also took full 100% control of HyProMag, a rare earth magnet recycling business, with initial production in the UK targeted for the fourth quarter of this year.
Losses for the three months to June were US$1.08 million and for the half year US$1.64 million. Cash at the end of June totalled US$4.5mln.
