Splunk shares climb higher on comfortable earnings beat

Splunk Inc (NASDAQ:SPLK), a cloud-data software firm, saw its shares rise nearly 13% after last night's second quarter financial results impressed.

It posted adjusted earnings of $0.71 per share on revenue of $910.6 million, versus expectations of $0.46 per share on revenue of $889 million.

Splunk also narrowed its loss to $63.2 million from $209.7 million in the year-ago quarter.

“Through our ongoing focus on accelerating innovation and harnessing AI, we unveiled many important advancements during the quarter to help customers strengthen their overall digital resilience and security posture,” CEO Gary Steele said in a statement.

Looking ahead, Splunk projects third-quarter revenue between $1.02 billion and $1.035 billion, more than the analyst consensus estimate of $982 million.

In New York, Splunk stock was up $12.72 or 12.73% trading at $112.65 in early deals.
