Partners at the UK division of accounting giant PwC will receive £906,000 this year, a small decrease from last year's record payout.
The firm's unaudited accounts reveal that despite an 18% rise in revenues from £4.9 billion to £5.8 billion, profits dropped from £1.5 billion to £1.3 billion in 2022. Last year's profit was inflated by £139 million from the sale of its global mobility business.
In the previous year, partners enjoyed their highest-ever personal earnings, exceeding £1 million each.
This included a £100,000 bonus linked to the £1.7 billion sale of a business focused on tax advice for overseas staff relocation.
Kevin Ellis, chair and senior partner at PwC UK, noted that despite the dip, partner profits still exceeded expectations.
He attributed this to significant investments in technology and staff. The firm invested £100 million in new platforms and increased its UK staff numbers from 24,500 to 26,000.
Additionally, PwC UK provided around half of its workforce with an extra £1,500 over five months to help with rising winter energy costs.
The UK division's results also include its Middle Eastern business, which contributed to 30% growth in consulting revenues, from £1.3 billion to £1.7 billion.
