Bath & Body Works is expected to post a year-over-year decline in both sales and profit for the second quarter when it hands down its latest financial report before the opening bell on Wednesday, August 23.
When it posted its first quarter results in mid-May, the bath shop chain forecast a low- to mid-single-digit decline in net sales from $1.62 billion in the year-ago quarter.
It forecast earnings per share (EPS) between $0.27 and $0.32, down from EPS of $0.52 in the second quarter of 2022.
Wall Street analysts forecast EPS of $0.33 on revenue of $$1.57 billion, according to Zacks Consensus Estimate.
Bath & Body Works shared traded lower ahead of its results, down 5% at US$34.88 shortly before the market close on Tuesday.
