Awalé Resources Ltd (TSX-V:ARIC) has announced assay results for follow-up drilling completed at the Charger and Sceptre East targets at its Odienné Project in Côte d'Ivoire, which included 12 metres (m) of 4.9 grams per tonne (g/t) gold at the Charger target.
The mineral exploration company said 17 holes remain to be reported for the Charger, Lando, Sceptre Main and BBM targets, with "strong" news flow expected to continue throughout August and September from these remaining targets.
"We await results from a further six holes at Charger and see it as a significant high-grade target that can advance toward resource development drilling in the coming year," Awalé Resources CEO Andrew Chubb said in a statement.
"These early holes provide a better understanding of the system's controls on copper and gold mineralization," he added.
Awalé noted that drilling has extended the Sceptre target to greater than 700m strike, and It remains open in all directions, with drilling confirming mineralization across strike up to 400m that included 358.5m of 0.34% copper equivalent.
Awalé Resources is focused on the discovery of large high-grade gold and copper-gold deposits.
Awalé currently undertakes exploration activities in the underexplored parts of Côte d'Ivoire, including a fully funded earn-in joint venture with Newmont covering one permit and one application within the greater Odienné copper-gold project.
