Copper-X announces start of exploration at Jupiter copper project in Antofagasta, Chile

Guyana Goldstrike Inc, dba Copper-X Mining Inc. (TSX-V:GYA), announced that it has commenced exploration at the Jupiter copper project in Chile’s Antofagasta region in preparation for a National Instrument 43-101 Technical Report.

In a statement, the Canadian company told investors that initial exploration work will include geochemical sampling and geological mapping with the arrival of a team at the project, 90 kilometres south of Antofagasta. The team will follow up on exploration work completed in 2021, focussing on areas of historical sampling of known copper mineralisation in rock outcrop, with initial assays to be delivered to the lab as early as next week.

A desktop review of historical geological and geotechnical work has also commenced, Copper-X added.

The company noted that multiple historic rock samples assayed copper values over 2.0% copper per tonne. The main area of focus surrounds the north-central area of samples 5 and 6 which is correlated to the edge of a magnetometer low. This will be the main focus of exploration moving forward to identify drill pad locations.

The Jupiter property comprises 4,000 hectares. The main target shows evidence of copper mineralization in a corridor of three by two kilometres, while airborne MAG shows that mineralization is consistent with low mag, indicating several untested areas.

The project is accessible by paved road around 90 kilometres south of the city of Antofagasta, the major mining hub in northern Chile, and boasts access to renewable power and is adjacent to the ocean to secure access to seawater.
