Deltic Energy says Shell has begun site survey work for North Sea well

Deltic Energy PLC (AIM:DELT), an AIM-listed natural resources investor with a portfolio centred on the Southern and Central North Sea, said licence operator Shell UK has started site survey works for the Selene exploration well.

The oil giant has dispatched a geophysical site survey vessel to gather high-resolution 2D seismic data over the proposed well site.

This seismic acquisition is slated for completion by the end of August. The collected data will subsequently guide the geotechnical survey, aiding in the precise determination of the rig's location and placement.

"The commencement of the site survey on Selene is another important step on the path to drilling this high-impact, low-risk prospect in the Southern North Sea," said chief executive Graham Swindells.

"We are looking forward to working with Shell as we continue to progress the well design prior to the scheduled drilling operations in mid-2024."
