Jamie Oliver and his family received around £6.8 million in 2022 as profits at the chef’s companies nearly doubled to reach £7.7 million for the full year.
Surging profits were attributed to a post-pandemic resurgence, while full-year revenues for franchise restaurants abroad more than doubled to £3.7 million.
Notably, Jamie Oliver Holdings, which oversees his diverse ventures, was able to distribute a dividend of £5 million, surpassing the amount paid out in 2021 by over three times - Jamie Oliver Licensing dished out a further £5 million.
Impressively, the financial upturn comes despite the celebrity chef’s Italian chain collapsing in 2018, having accumulated debts of £83 million.
Chief executive officer Kevin Styles, who assumed the role last year to revitalise the businesses, highlighted the enduring global appeal of the Jamie Oliver brand, claiming it “continues to resonate with audiences across the world”.
He said: “The results for 2022 show we have the foundations in place from which to continue to evolve our business, putting our customers first, serving their mealtime needs across a range of relevant media & product solutions as well as restaurant & cooking experiences.”
Poised to expand its presence and not afraid of his failings in 2018, Oliver is making a return to the UK dining scene, launching a new restaurant in Covent Garden in November under the name ‘Jamie Oliver Catherine Street’.
