Shares of Belluscura PLC (AIM:BELL) jumped 19% after the medical device developer said it had received orders for over 6,500 units of its next-generation DISCOV-R portable oxygen concentrators, translating to potential revenues of around $15 million.
Production is slated to commence by this quarter's end. Post its pre-market launch and a patient usability study in June, Belluscura plans a phased release of DISCOV-R this autumn through 2024.
The device, anticipated to be the world's first ambulatory two-litre continuous flow, eight-level pulse dose portable oxygen concentrator, can produce nearly triple the oxygen by weight compared to dual flow rivals.
Recent orders come on the heels of distribution deals, including partnerships with a McKesson division and digital healthcare platform GoodRx earlier this year. The firm has also fielded multiple distribution requests from top US oxygen homecare providers.
At 8.27 am, the shares were changing hands for 44.12p, up 7.12p.
