QMines boosts exploration potential with expanding Mt Chalmers target pipeline

QMines Ltd (ASX:QML) has ramped up its exploration with the completion of initial geological reconnaissance and mapping at Tracker 1 (T1) anomaly within its flagship Mt Chalmers Copper and Gold Project in central Queensland

During the field program, Tracker 1 was identified as a high-priority electromagnetic target, with drilling to kick off at the anomaly as part of the expanding electromagnetic (EM) target pipeline

Field reconnaissance highlighted outcropping gossan with visible traces of malachite and azurite copper mineralisation with gossan rock chip samples assaying up to 2.67% copper.

Just 2.5 kilometres away, drilling continues unabated at the recent Artillery Road discovery with an update expected shortly.

“Another exciting target”

QMines managing director Andrew Sparke said: "We have spent a considerable amount of time digitising historical soil and structural data from previous explorers at the T1 prospect.

“With the new electromagnetic anomalies identified at the T1 prospect, this area has become another exciting target for future drilling.

"Access negotiations are underway with the landholders and, once completed, the company will commence exploration at this target.”

Forward plan

The next steps at Mt Chalmers include:

  • continue drilling at the Artillery Road Prospect and other priority EM targets;
  • continue ground reconnaissance, mapping and ranking of the 34 EM anomalies;
  • commence Fixed Loop electromagnetic survey at the Artillery Road prospect;
  • analyse and integrate the VTEM™ inversion results; and
  • complete the planned pre-feasibility study on the Mt Chalmers project assessing the potential for a standalone mining operation.
