Shares in Abingdon Health PLC (AIM:ABDX) pinged 17% higher to 10.25p after getting a positive result from Tesco to stock what it says it the first-ever saliva pregnancy test.
The UK's largest supermarket group will stock the patented Salistick in 298 larger stores and make it available online at Tesco.com from later this month.
Salistick, for which Abingdon is the exclusive UK distributor for Israel-based manufacturer Salignostics, was stocked by Superdrug, which agreed to carry the product in 400 stores and online.
Chief executive Chris Yates said: "This novel technology provides women with an enhanced user-experience; offering the ability to test anywhere, anytime, and for the testing experience to be shared with a partner and other loved ones."
He said a dual pack will be launched next.
