Blue-chip results season is tailing off but there are still some big swingers filing their results on both sides of the Atlantic, including income hunters’ favourites Aviva and L&G in London, and Walmart and Cisco in the US.
Also representing the insurance sector in the week are Just Group and Admiral, while another theme is gambling, with William Hill owner 888 and Grosvenor casino owner Rank Group.
UK wages and inflation data on Tuesday and Wednesday will be the big macroeconomic news of the week, along with US retail sales and industrial production data.
