Renforth Resources Inc (CSE:RFR, OTCQB:RFHRF) has added the Copper Prince project located near Iron Bridge in Ontario to its exploration portfolio.
The project consists of 15 claims covering part of a known copper-bearing vein system, the Copper Prince system, and a less documented vein/disseminated copper system, the North Summit system, Renforth said in a statement.
Renforth acquired 100% of the rights to the staked claims by way of assignment with no purchase cost paid.
According to the company, mineralization at Copper Prince and North Summit is hosted by steeply dipping white quartz veins, with a width of roughly 1-to-5 metres and traceable over a considerable distance, with the veins hosting chalcopyrite, pyrite and specular hematite.
Historically recorded assays from work carried out at Copper Prince by the Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company of Canada included several copper assays that exceeded 1%, along with low-grade gold and silver values.
However, Renforth noted that this historic information was not to be relied upon as there is no core available for verification and assay technology standards have changed but that it treats this information as confirmation the property is mineralized.
Limited drilling was completed by Lakeland Resources (TSX-V:LK) on the Renforth property and adjacent to it, confirming some of the historic drill results, the company said.
The North Summit area was explored, trenched and drill-tested in the 1960s by North Summit Explorations but this exploration work was “poorly recorded and poorly located,” meaning there are no maps to accompany the work reports.
As such, Renforth said it is believed that the North Summit occurrence is likely to lie within the northeastern part of the Copper Prince property.
Renforth is a secure multi-commodity area play with the dominant brownfield land position south of the world-class Cadillac-Larder Lake Fault in the prolific Cadillac and Malartic mining camps of Quebec's Abitibi.
