The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) shares added 2.7% after hours Wednesday despite mixed quarterly results hurt by continued streaming revenue concerns.
The entertainment behemoth posted revenue of $22.33 billion, slightly behind Street expectations of $22.5 billion, along with earnings of $1.03 per share, compared to projections of $0.95.
Disney+ subscribers declined 7.4% quarter-over-quarter to 146.1 million, below the 151.1 million expected.
Lions Gate Entertainment (NYSE:LGF) stock slid 0.7% after the company reported revenue of $908.6 million in the quarter ended June 30, up 2% year-over-year and ahead of Street estimates of $893 million. The company’s loss came out at $0.31 per share, compared to $0.53 a year earlier and an expected loss of $0.45.
These results come amid ongoing negotiations for the Hollywood studio regarding the spinoff or sale of its studio arm or Starz streaming service.
Wynn Resorts (NASDAQ:WYNN) shares climbed 1.8% after its North America and Macau resorts helped the company swing to a profit of $105.2 million. That compares to a loss of $130.1 million a year earlier.
Adjusted earnings came to $0.91 per share, above Street expectations of $0.64, and revenue was $1.6 billion, up from $908.8 million a year ago and topping analyst projections of $1.54 billion.
U-Haul Holding Company (NYSE:UHAL) shares slowed 2% after the company’s first-quarter results of fiscal 2024 disappointed on earnings.
The company posted revenue of $1.54 billion, down from $1.6 billion a year earlier but above Street expectations of $1.5 billion. Earnings were $1.27 per share, missing expectations of $1.43.
Self-moving equipment rental revenues decreased 8.4% year-over-year to $999.2 million, as transactions and average miles driven per transaction both came in lower. Self-storage revenue rose nearly 15% to $198.9 million.
