Equity Metals said the final assays from its Spring 2023 core drilling program at its Silver Queen silver-gold project in British Columbia have extended new mineralization in several areas.
The mineralization extensions are at the west side of the Camp Deposit, a blind, hanging wall vein north of the main Camp veins, and a previously undrilled portion of the Sveinson Deposit, the company said.
"Work on the Silver Queen project through 2023 continues the systematic delineation of new mineralization throughout the property through a combination of extending currently known veins as well as drill testing new targets developed through compilation of historical data and recent surface work on the property,” Equity Metals VP exploration Rob Macdonald said in a statement.
“The property already contains a significant existing mineral resource base that was updated in 2022, doubling the earlier 2019 resource, which we believe will increase with the further development and exploration of these new targets. Today's news appears to support our view.”
Drill highlights at the Camp Deposit include a 0.7-metre interval grading 742 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, 0.7% lead and 0.6% zinc (9.7 g/t gold equivalent or 790 g/t silver equivalent) from drill hole SQ23-082.
This interval extends mineralization in the Camp Deposit by an extra 100 metres laterally to the west, which remains open for further drill testing.
At the Sveinson Deposit, drilling returned multiple gold and base-metal-enriched intercepts including a 1.5-metre interval grading 1.5 g/t gold, 89 g/t silver, 1.5% lead and 16.2% zinc (11.2 g/t gold equivalent or 914 g/t silver equivalent) within a 7.7-metre interval averaging 0.9 g/t gold, 57 g/t silver, 1.4% lead and 6.5% zinc (5.4 g/t gold equivalent or 445 g/t silver equivalent) from drillhole SQ23-086.
Drillhole SQ23-084 returned a 2.2-metre interval grading 0.9 g/t gold, 27 g/t silver, 1.2% lead and 2.9% zinc (3.1 g/t gold equivalent or 252 g/t silver equivalent).
Two of the four holes tested a 200-metre drilling gap in the deposit, with each containing multiple intercepts to help build continuity of depths of up to 250 metres below surface in several veins first identified in 2022 drilling.
Drilling at the project is currently suspended due to wildfire risk, but will resume on the Cole Lake target when safe to do so.
Equity Metals Corporation (TSX-V:EQTY, OTCQB:EQMEF) is focused on creating shareholder value through fast-tracking exploration of the company’s flagship 100%-owned Silver Queen gold-silver property in British Columbia, Canada.
