Kootenay Silver files first technical report for Columba silver project; shares rise

Kootenay Silver Inc. (TSX-V:KTN) announced that it has filed its first technical report for its Columba silver project located in Chihuahua State, Mexico.

Shareholders welcomed the news, sending the company’s stock 6.7% higher to C$0.08 on Wednesday morning.

The company said in a statement that the report, prepared by independent consultants Moose Mountain Technical Services, summarizes work done to date at the project which includes 27,000 meters of drilling in 135 holes and detailed and regional geologic mapping and sampling over five principal veins and numerous subsidiary veins.

It recommends further drilling in the principal veins with both increased drill density of 50-meter spacing and exploratory drilling along undrilled and under-drilled veins.

It also recommends that a metallurgical program be carried out on the principal areas of mineralization, Kootenay Silver said.

The full technical report can be found on the company’s website, it noted.

Kootenay Silver is an exploration company actively engaged in the discovery and development of mineral projects in the Sierra Madre Region of Mexico.
