HANetf co-CEO says Crypto "horse has bolted"

HANetf co-CEO says Crypto "horse has bolted"

HANetf co-founder and co-CEO Hector McNeil visits Proactive's London studio to speak with Thomas Warner about the recent developments, including the launch of the HANetf Future of Defence UCITS ETF designed to give investors exposure to those companies set to benefit from rising geopolitical tensions and an expected increase in defence spending by NATO members. McNeil reveals that the ETF has already attracted $3 million of investment in less than a month.

Additionally, HANetf has partnered with Societe Generale to create the European Green Deal UCITS ETF, aimed at companies benefiting from green initiatives. He suggests that this venture has also seen impressive uptake, with €14 million invested in just two weeks.

The interview also touched on the significance of BlackRock's filing for a spot Bitcoin ETF in the US. McNeil sees this move as a game-changer, mainstreaming the crypto asset class and opening doors for more investors to consider cryptocurrency as a hedge in their portfolios, saying that the "horse has bolted" in terms of mainstream crypto acceptance.

He believes that crypto's technology enables greater financial freedom, despite criticisms surrounding money laundering.
