Baselode Energy Corp (TSX-V:FIND, OTCQB:BSENF) has provided an update on the diamond drilling program on the ACKIO high-grade uranium zone at the Hook project in Saskatchewan, saying high levels of radioactivity and multiple intersections of greater than 10,000 counts per second (cps) were found in drill hole AK23-102 within 2,271 cps over 16.0 metres (m) starting at 120m from surface.
The uranium explorer also noted that eight of nine holes encountered radioactivity starting within 100m from surface.
"We are impressed with these results that extend ACKIO's near-surface mineralization along with higher levels of radioactivity," Baselode Energy CEO James Sykes said in a statement.
"Pod 7 has grown along strike and at depth with higher radioactivity and, in particular, hole AK23-102 has some of the highest radioactivity encountered at ACKIO, and mineralization remains open along strike," he added.
Baselode said AK23-102 extends mineralization in Pod 7 by 50m, representing about 50% strike length growth, with mineralization open along strike.
The company added that 24 drill holes in 4,875m have been completed at ACKIO to date, and the program continues to drill but has now shifted to near-ACKIO reconnaissance exploration drilling while ACKIO is remodeled with new results.
Baselode Energy controls 100% of about 264,172 hectares in the Athabasca Basin area in northern Saskatchewan. The company discovered the ACKIO near-surface, high-grade uranium deposit in September 2021.
