Guyana Goldstrike Inc (TSX-V:GYA), dba Copper-X Mining Inc, is getting set to kick off a new exploration program at the Jupiter copper project in Chile’s Antofagasta region.
The Canadian company said it had acquired geophysical data from the government of Chile, including geophysics showing both regional and property wide magnetic lows correlated with copper mineralized zones.
According to Copper-X, the data shows a direct correlation with medium and high-grade copper samples and magnetic lows.
The main focus area of the program will center around historic rock samples that assayed copper values including in excess of 2% copper per tonne, the company said in a statement.
Exploration will include drone-based mapping, geotechnical sampling, and detailed geological mapping of primary zones.
Copper-X hopes to pinpoint between eight and 10 drill sites for immediate follow-up drilling. The company is aiming to have an NI 43-101 technical report on the property by September 15.
The Jupiter property is comprised of 4,000 hectares. The main target shows evidence of copper mineralization in a corridor of three by two kilometres, while airborne MAG shows that mineralization is consistent with low mag, indicating several untested areas.
The project is accessible by paved road around 90 kilometres south of the city of Antofagasta, the major mining hub in northern Chile, and boasts access to renewable power and adjacent to the ocean to secure access to sea water.
The belt hosts several world class mine operations including Michilla, Antofagasta’s Antucoya, Mantos Copper’s Mantoverde and Mantos Blanco, Teck’s Carmen de Andacollo, Lundin’s Candelaria, Anglo American’s El Soldado; and major projects including Marimaca Copper Corp (TSX:MARI)’s Marimaca, Hot Chili’s Productora-Cortadera and Capstone’s Santo Domingo.
