Trillion Energy International Inc. (CSE:TCF, OTCQB:TRLEF) told investors it is pleased with the results of the Alapli-2 well, in the Black Sea, offshore Turkey, where gas sales are now due to begin in a matter of days.
Alapli-2 is among the wells drilled at the SASB gas field in a programme that set out to develop previously unreachable resources through ‘long reach directional wells’.
Trillion today noted that the next phase of drilling would follow in mid-2024 and that the upcoming campaign would include several sidetrack wells, long reach directional wells and stratigraphic exploration wells.
“Almost one year ago, we began drilling at the SASB gas field using advanced drilling technology to reach previously unreachable gas pools,” said chief executive Art Halleran.
“We are pleased with the results of the first drilling campaign at SASB and believe our success on the field will continue.
“We look forward to opening a new dimension with the assessment of stratigraphic gas prospects on the SASB block and to maximize returns for drilling at SASB.
Halleran added: “The revenue generated by SASB gas production will now build a material cash balance and be used for other ventures.”
Trillion said it is currently negotiating a new drilling contract for the 2024 SASB drilling program, and following the Alapli-2 completion, the 2023 campaign will be concluded.
Operations in the field continue, however, with the team seeking to maximize gas production with work focussing next on the Akcakoca Platform, where additional well perforations are planned – it plans to open additional gas pay in the Guluc-2 well, along with work on the as Akcakoca-3 and West Akcakoca-1 wells.
The company also plans to conduct field analysis to determine how to maximize gas production and ascertain which gas pools require additional wells in the next phase of drilling, and, will conduct new 3D seismic re-processing for targeting future exploration wells. The seismic analysis is expected by October.
