Wood Group inks new partnership with Shell

Shell PLC (LSE:SHEL, NYSE:SHEL) has awarded John Wood Group PLC (LSE: WG.) a three-year contract to continue providing engineering and management expertise for its projects.

Building on an already 70-year partnership, the enterprise framework agreement will see Wood support Shell’s greenfield and brownfield projects across the world.

“Complex project excellence is where we excel and we are aligned with Shell in our strategic ambitions to deliver the energy the world needs,” Wood Group boss Ken Gilmartin said.

These projects will focus on the likes of carbon capture, low-carbon fuels and hydrogen, according to Wood, which will provide expertise on decarbonisation, digitalisation and asset life extension.

Wood will partner with Shell initially for three years, with options for two further one-year extensions.

The services will be provided by Wood’s consulting and engineering teams in Europe, the Americas, South-East Asia, Australia and the Middle East.

“We look forward to continuing to partner with Shell as we work to design a better energy future together,” Gilmartin added.
