Capita turns to to Amazon web arm to replace chief executive

Capita boss Jon Lewis has announced he is to retire next year after seven years at the helm of the outsourcing specialist.

Lewis, who has been in charge since 2017, will hand over next July to Adolfo Hernandez, currently vice president of global telecommunications at Amazon Web Services.

Capita has had another tough year with the share price down by a third since March after it warned it had suffered a hacking attack that would cost it £20mln.

Customer, supplier and staff data were accessed in the cyber attack, the company confirmed.

Shares today were flat at 28p.
