Good morning from London where the FTSE 100 is back up at two-month highs on the back of some big-name results.
Among them was Unilever, which says continued price rises helped to support its revenue growth during the six months to June.
888 Holdings also rose on announcing Per Widerstrom will take the helm as the company's chief executive starting in October.
Not such an appetising picture over at food services firm Compass Group, which reiterated its full-year guidance on strong third-quarter revenue growth, but felt it necessary to make reassuring noises about its inflation-hit margins.
Also facing a tough morning was Virgin Media O2, which laid out plans overnight to axe 2,000 staff by the end of the year, equating to around a tenth of its workforce.
Over in the US Apple is staring down the barrel at a billion-dollar class action lawsuit over the amount it charges developers to sell applications on its App Store, and in small caps, hVIVO rose after announcing a £13.1mln deal to create a human challenge model for influenza B.
You can watch my interview with hVIVO chief exec Mo Khan right here on Proactive. That’s all for this morning, I’ll see you tomorrow
