Games Workshop Group PLC (LSE:GAW) has upped its annual dividend by more than 76% as it confirmed last year had seen the highest sales since it floated 29 years ago.
Revenues at the Warhammer gaming miniatures group rose by 13% to £445mln in the year to end-May 2023, with pre-tax profits 10% higher at £170.6mln.
Cash generation was also strong with the amount in hand before dividends almost doubling to £155mln.
Staff will get a bonus of £4,000 each (2022: £3,500), costing the group £11.6mln while the dividend payout rises to 415p from 235p.
Kevin Rountree, Games Workshop chief executive, said the results made it eight years of consecutive sales and profits growth, adding that its international team had been outstanding.
The emphasis for the current year would be on product quality, he commented, noting that in June 2023 Games Workshop “launched the best Warhammer 40,000 range of miniatures in our history”.
In addition, nine new unreleased video games are in development with two new licences signed in the year.
