Destiny Pharma PLC (AIM:DEST, OTC:DTTYF) has named City grandee Sir Nigel Rudd as its chairman.
The appointment marks a second stint at the Brighton-based company for the former Alliance Boots chair, who has been an investor in the business for the past 20 years.
“It is with great pleasure that I can return to the company at such an exciting time, as we move towards the commercialisation of our products,” said Rudd.
“Our recent market research is indicating that there is a blockbuster, $2bn-plus opportunity with the XF-73 programme in the US alone.
“And our NTCD-M3 programme is phase-III ready, with the clinical development and regulatory investment required, coming from our partner Sebela.”
Rudd’s appointment follows that of Chris Tovey to the role of chief executive, a position being filled on a temporary basis by Debra Barker, who will return to her original position as non-executive director.
The company is a specialist in the next generation of anti-infectives.
