Golden Rim Resources eyes gold resource upgrade on completion of drilling at Kada Project

Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX:GMR, OTC:GMRMF) has completed resource expansion diamond drilling at its flagship Kada Gold Project in Guinea, where 23 holes for 4,192.5 metres were drilled across the Massan and Bereko prospects.

The West African gold explorer has outlined a maiden inferred mineral resource of 25.5 million tonnes at 1.1 g/t gold for 930,000 ounces at Kada, 72% of which is shallow oxide-transitional gold mineralisation, and now aims to build on this.

Drilling at Massan was designed to test the open mineralisation at depth and to provide additional structural information within the deepest and highest-grade portion of the Kada mineral resource estimate (MRE).

At Bereko, maiden diamond drilling has confirmed the orientation and width and grade of mineralisation within the prospect.

Assay results in August

Assays for the final seven holes for 1,629.5 metres have been dispatched to the laboratory for analysis, with the results expected next month.

These results, along with information from the recently completed trenching, reverse circulation (RC) drilling and aircore drilling, will be incorporated into Golden Rim’s internal modelling in preparation for a maiden MRE at Bereko and an MRE update at Massan.

The company expects an upgraded Kada resource before the end of this year.

Growing confidence

Golden Rim managing director Tim Strong said: “We are delighted to have completed a productive field season, with RC, aircore and diamond drilling undertaken, as well as a major trenching campaign at Kada.

“We have gained critical insights into the nature and orientation of mineralisation that we are currently using to update our geologic modelling in preparation for a major MRE update, including a maiden MRE at Bereko, on track for delivery during H2 CY2023.

“We are eager to incorporate this season’s new results into an updated MRE and are confident of delivering significant growth in our MRE.

“Furthermore, with recent new discoveries including 17 metres at 1.3 g/t in Sounkou’s first RC hole, we are looking forward to continuing to increase the size and scale of the Kada Project.”
