China demand to dominate LVMH, Moncler and Kering's first half

Luxury giants LVMH, Moncler and Kering will be posting first-half results this week, with outlook and performance in China as the key theme according to Deutsche Bank.

Analysts at the British arm of the German bank noted that the extent of underlying demand in China after restrictions were eased is one of the key debates for all three companies.

Performance and outlook in Europe and the US will also be one to watch out for ahead of the updates.

For LVMH specifically, Deutsche Bank will be looking for trends in fashion and luxury for the second and third quarters as the Louis Vuitton and Givenchy owner introduces low-single-digit price rises.

On Moncler, Deutsche Bank will be looking out for the strength of US and local European demand, price vs volume trends and any updated outlook on Stone Island following the CEO change and underperformance.

Finally, Deutsche Bank said a key debate for Balenciaga owner Kering will be any signs of improvement in Gucci and Bottega Veneta in China, old stock management and store investment, as well as any update on outlook and trading by brand.
