Meta and Pinterest top online ad picks, Netflix price target raised, State Street downgraded and more analyst calls of the week

Analysts at Wedbush have reiterated their ‘Outperform’ rating and US$26 price target for IMAX ahead of the company’s upcoming second-quarter results due on Wednesday, July 26, after the market close.

The analysts wrote that, for 2Q, they expect the entertainment technology company to post revenue of $87 million, slightly below the consensus expectation of $88 million.

Hydrogen technologies will be a "pivotal" source of energy over the coming decades, while carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) and nuclear fusion are "unlikely to have a significant impact" before 2030, according to JPMorgan.

In the investment bank's annual global energy outlook, it did note that hydrogen (H2) should play a crucial role, particularly for hard-to-abate sectors such as steel, ammonia, and heavy-duty transportation, the amount of investment could be hindered by regulatory impediments.

Analysts at Wedbush have reiterated their ‘Outperform’ rating and upped their price target for Netflix following the streaming giant’s second quarter results, despite investor disappointment over the report sending the stock almost 9% lower.

The analysts raised their price target from $475 to $525, reflecting a price-to-earnings multiple of 30 times their 2025 earnings per share (EPS) estimate and 29 times their 2032 free cash flow estimate of $12 billion, discounted at the 10-year treasury rate.

Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSE:LNG) units continue to be one of the biggest laggards of its peer group, according to UBS analysts, who upgraded the stock to ‘Buy’ from ‘Neutral’ with a 12-month target price of $57 per units.

Shell PLC (LSE:SHEL, NYSE:SHEL) has the strongest balance sheet of all the European integrated oil majors and warrants a ‘buy’ recommendation, that’s according to analysts at Berenberg, with a price target of £28.50 which sees 100p of upside from the current market price of around £27.50.

“Shell released its second quarter update note on 4 July, pointing to a weaker quarter (as expected), which might be partially offset by working capital inflows,” Berenberg analyst Henry Tarr said in a note.

“While 2Q headline numbers of $25 billion [in revenue] and $0.81 [in earnings per share] look beatable, the big focus on this print will be auto gross margins (excluding credits) to gauge the impact of the price cuts and what this means for margins going forward,” the analysts wrote in a note to clients.

Analysts at Hannam & Partners believe Steppe Gold shares currently have 248% upside potential after the miner announced it has secured US$150 million for the Phase 2 expansion of its ATO Gold Mine in Mongolia.
