Plurilock Security submits provisional US patent application

Plurilock Security Inc. (TSX-V:PLUR) said it has submitted a new provisional patent application to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The patent application focuses on an omnibus system of AI-driven cloud access security broker (CASB) technology features designed to safeguard against the unintentional or deliberate disclosure of sensitive data during the use of generative AI.

As the adoption of AI continues to surge worldwide, with a 35% increase in global AI adoption rate in 2022 compared to the previous year, businesses face challenges in ensuring the secure and responsible use of generative AI tools. Many organizations lack the necessary frameworks, policies, and expertise to prevent the leakage of confidential information.

Recognizing these concerns, Plurilock filed the provisional patent application as part of its strategy to empower enterprises to leverage AI tools while safeguarding their private data. The application encompasses a comprehensive CASB system that automatically anonymizes or redacts confidential information within AI interactions. This ensures that AI platforms do not receive sensitive data from users, while users themselves remain unaware of any anonymization or redaction.

"This new CASB-for-AI technology addresses a potentially catastrophic problem that we know many organizations are urgently facing today," stated Ian L. Paterson, CEO of Plurilock. "As generative AI tools explode in popularity, the leaking of sensitive data into AI systems has become a top concern among the business and government leaders we speak to. Providing AI safety solutions is a key mission for us as a cybersecurity company."

Plurilock's expertise in CASB, Data Loss Prevention, and Single Sign-On has been instrumental in the development of this new technology. Leveraging its patented artificial intelligence and real-time identity confirmation technology, Plurilock AI enables zero-trust architecture and delivers threat detection and response capabilities for organizations with remote workforces.

Through its Solutions Division, Plurilock offers a comprehensive range of products and world-class IT services, empowering teams across North America and beyond to work securely in a remote work environment. The company aims to transform this technology into an enterprise solution that allows businesses and organizations to effectively manage and govern data exposed to AI platforms, without the need to block AI access or certain types of AI prompts.

With its latest patent application, Plurilock demonstrates its commitment to addressing the pressing security challenges associated with the widespread adoption of generative AI tools, ensuring a safer and more responsible AI-driven future.
