Wincanton appoints ex-NHS chair to board

John Pattullo will join the supply chain specialist from November

Wincanton PLC (LSE:WIN) has announced the appointment of former NHS Blood & Transplant chairman John Pattullo as a non-executive director.

Pattullo, who has also held senior positions at Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG), DHL and Ceva Logistics, will join the AIM-listed supply chain specialist from November, Wincanton said in a statement.

Chairman Martin Read commented that Pattullo would be a “great asset” to Wincanton, which provides the likes of storage, handling and distribution services for business.

“We are very pleased to have secured someone of John's wide experience in consumer goods and logistics,” he added.

“I believe the business has real promise,” Pattullo commented, “[it] has an excellent blue-chip client base, a strong balance sheet and numerous exciting growth opportunities.”

Pattullo held 8,000 shares in Wincanton as his appointment was announced on Tuesday, the company said.

Wincanton rose 2.2% to 258.5p following the news.
